Plant Engineer Intern





Job summary:

Position requires a thorough knowledge of electrical/ instrumentation/ automation engineering techniques within FMCG environment. Responsible for planning and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation (risk analysis), selection, application of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. This involves conducting market research on technical properties, concepts, price comparison, safety and quantitative/ qualitative criteria. The job holder will lead projects or parts of projects, ensure compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices and develop electrical and control system standards. He/ she will support maintenance team with providing updated drawings and data base supports. We ask the job holder to be a specialist in Electricity/ Automation.

Job description:

Foundational responsibilities: Assume the lead engineer’s role on assigned projects, evaluate risks, plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate program of assigned engineering work and projects and monitor projects, which involve coordination between different suppliers, quotation requests, delivery of goods, installation validation - Performs assignments independently with instruction as to the general results expected and with guidance from Department Manager and/or engineering specialist on unusual or complex problems - Assign and coordinate work to equipment designers, maintenance engineers and technicians - Transfer project to operators and provide technical direction and on-the-job training to maintenance engineers and technicians - Develop improvement projects for existing lines - Advise management functionality of new machines - Advise management on obsolescence risk of electrical and electronical equipment - Pass on knowledge regarding operation of equipment and maintenance procedures - Information transfer external firms - Analyze reports, maps, drawing, tests and other data to plan and design work, diagnose issues and recommend solutions to solve problems - Gives support to line compliance for CE norms (EN 2006/42/EG) check - Ensure an updated documentation after each project (drawing / PID / spare part lists,...) to transfer installation to final users - Support maintenance team as specialist during troubleshooting on PLC and electrical cabinets. Customers relationship: Internal Maintenance, Production, Quality, Process team - External Equipment Vendors, Government agencies. Project Management: Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects and may serve as the overall Project Engineer and as designated Company contact on projects - Requires a broad knowledge of PLC controls, Instrumentation, SCADA systems, electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs - Requires a broad knowledge of the application of engineering to food manufacturing equipment, wrapping equipment and plant infrastructure.

Your profile:

Minimum education required: Electrical/ Electronic Engineer and/or Automation Engineer Experience: At least one relevant experience in a similar position Knowledge, skills and abilities required: • Fluent in English, French and Dutch (Lean knowledge) • IT • Siemens/ Allan Bradly PLC, Microsoft Suite (Industrial electrical PLC’s and industrial + automation and drive systems) • Understanding of Electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs • Autocad 2D • Siemens PLC (Step 7) programming knowledge (small software and hardware modification) • Relevant knowledge of Siemens PLC diagnostic
